Light Rail Living

A free day planner along Phoenix's light rail.

Pick a stop, get a timed, walkable itinerary along Valley Metro's A and B lines, and check in as you go. Free, no sign-up, about thirty seconds to a plan.

  • Weather and time of day shape every recommendation.
  • Every venue in the index was checked by someone who walked the block.
  • Built and launched to public beta in two weeks of focused work.
  • The app says plainly when a recommendation came from an AI model.
Light Rail Living on a phone: Plan your day along the rail

The problem

Phoenix's light rail covers a surprising amount of the city's culture, but using it feels like reading a transit map. Visitors default to ride-share. Locals stick to the few stops they already know. The system is genuinely useful; it just doesn't feel that way until someone hands you a plan.

What we built

Light Rail Living asks three questions: what kind of day you want, how much time you have, and what you're hungry for. It returns a curated, walkable, timed itinerary along the rail, written like a friend's recommendation rather than a search result.

How AI fits in

An AI model does the synthesis: it combines our hand-built index of stops and venues with current weather, the time of day and your answers into one coherent plan. The model never invents venues. Everything it recommends comes from the index, and the index was checked on foot.

What's next

Follow-up chat to tweak a plan, shared itineraries, and a sponsored tier for venues that want placement. The same pattern could work in any city with a rail line and a food scene.
